Team Castle Water Triumphs In Business Fives Tayside Charity Football Event, As Highest Fundraiser For MS Society

Castle Water, the UK’s leading independent business water retailer, emerged victorious at the Business Fives Tayside charity football event held last Thursday at Soccerworld in Dundee.

The charity football event saw 11 teams from various other businesses in Tayside come together to raise funds for their chosen charities and compete against each other while also promoting health, fitness and well-being.

Castle Water played remarkably; not only earning them the highly sought-after Europa Conference League Trophy but also securing them the title of the event’s top fundraiser. Led by their determined captain, Mark Franchi, Team Castle Water showcased their exceptional skills and teamwork throughout the tournament. The team consisted of many talented employees: Ross Tavendale, Stephen Dixon, David Caldwell, Alistair McLaren, Kade Campbell, Euan Wilson, and Anthony Selles.

However, their victory wasn’t just about goals scored and matches won; it was about a collective effort to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In a touching gesture of support, Team Castle Water dedicated their fundraising efforts to assist their colleague, Tracy, who has recently been diagnosed with MS.

Tracy, a valued member of the Castle Water team, has shown incredible resilience in the face of this challenging condition. In a bid to demonstrate that anyone can overcome life’s obstacles, Tracy, along with the Legal Team, embarked on a remarkable journey by climbing the Scottish Munro, Schiehallion, on Saturday 16 September. Their determination was not only an inspiration but also a reminder that with unwavering support and determination, people can conquer even the most formidable challenges.

The Business Fives Tayside charity football event served as a perfect platform for Team Castle Water to raise both awareness and funds for the MS Society. The MS Society, the UK’s largest charity dedicated to those affected by multiple sclerosis, is at the forefront of MS research and advocacy. A total of nearly £1,300 has been raised via the teams’ Just Giving page.

Mark Franchi, captain of Team Castle Water, expressed his gratitude and pride in their accomplishments, saying, “Winning the Europa Conference League Trophy is a fantastic achievement for our team, but what truly makes this victory special is our contribution to the MS Society and the support we’re providing to our colleague Tracy. Her journey and determination have inspired all of us, and we hope our efforts will contribute to the vital work of the MS Society.”

The Business Fives Tayside event not only showcased the competitive spirit of the local business community but also highlighted the power of sports to bring people together for a good cause. All funds raised by Castle Water will go a long way in supporting the MS Society’s vital work in research, advocacy, and care and support.
