On 16 November 2016, Affinity Water Limited applied to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for permission to withdraw from the non-household retail market. This application has been made under Regulation 4 of the Water and Sewerage Undertakers (Exit from Non-household Retail Market) Regulations 2016. Permission is sought to withdraw from the non-household retail market from the date that this market opens, anticipated to be 3 April 2017 at the time of application.

Affinity Water Limited proposes to transfer its non-household retail business to an associated company, Affinity for Business (Retail) Limited, which holds a water supply and sewerage licence granted by the Water Services Regulation Authority (Ofwat) on 9 November 2016. Affinity for Business (Retail) Limted has consented to the application.

If permission to exit the non-household retail market is granted, Affinity Water Limited will from the date of exit focus on supplying water to its household customers and providing wholesale water services to retailers in its water supply area.
